Take me There

Take me there
Take me to the places
I will follow
To the wide open spaces
And you, and you
You have my love

Here we are
Here we’ve always been
In our hearts
Is a season that never ends
And you, and you
You have my love
My love

There’s no need to look back now
We’re sailing on the seas
Horizons fading out of view
And there’s only you and me.

Take me there
Take me to the places
I will follow
To the wide open spaces
And you, and you
You have my love

Listen to This Song!

Take me There is a love song! I wrote it about rising above our past and the relationships that seemingly failed. Of course in my journey I have learned there is no failure because in every relationship we enter into, we learn something valuable about ourselves.

I believe in order for us to truly have success in our relationships we need to be able to self-reflect. We need to, as Peter Gabriel once said in his song "Digging in the Dirt", dig deep and find those parts of ourselves that prevent us from truly loving and being loved.

Relationships are a conscious process and if we go about them unconsciously we have an unconscious experience. It is easy to fall into patterns and continue to repeat the same relationship over and over, with different people.

When I wrote "Take Me There", I was writing about going to a place, a level I have never been before. This meant for me, rising above my past and claiming something beautiful. It is a song of success! A song of finding a great love, first within myself and then with my beloved partner and friend.
